Obsessions as of Late

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008

I go through various bouts of obsessions from collecting certain objects to listening to one particular song to eating a type of food. Here are a few recent obsessions of mine:

  • scrabulous
I have always had a love for word games, scrabble in particular and the online version scrabulous, is quite possibly what keeps me up at night sometimes (read: every other night). It has gotten to the point where I have even replaced all instances of ‘glamorous’ with ’scrabulous’ in Fergie’s song Glamorous. In all honesty, scrabulous rolls of the tongue a little bit better. If you’re an avid scrabulousist/scrabulousian/scrabulousite, feel free to find me in the Speedy Circuit or Sowpods Junction room. I go by the alias ‘dtothev’.
  • … with no handlebars
I am not a fan of the song by Flobots, but for some reason I have taken to tacking on the phrase ” … with no handlebars” at the end of nearly anything the BF says. It got old and decrepit even before I began this obsession.
  • bokeh (read wikipedia’s defintion)
Ever since acquiring a 50mm f/1.8 lens in May of this year, ninety percent of my photographs have a noticeable smattering of bokeh in them.

Hello Life, the Universe, and Everything

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008

This is probably my umpteenth attempt to reconvene blogging, but please bear with me. Life has been happening, and I finally have some ‘downtime’ to blog on a semi-regular basis again. Three major things of note that are currently going on in my life right now:

  1. I am expecting a mini-me on Friday, August 22nd (that’s a mere three-ish days away!) Excited much? Yes to the power of infinity plus one. The BF and I found out the glorious news during the beginning of this year and have chosen a name, obtained necessary baby supplies (galore!), and child-proofed our apartment. That mentioned, this blog will undoubtedly get flowered with baby news and whatnot from here on out.
  2. I took up photography as a hobby and in a few months may consider pursuing it as a weekend job. We shall see where that leads …
  3. I have managed to cook (and not burn!) a decent amount of meals (mostly pasta dishes), though the BF continues to do most of the cooking.

As a side note, entries in this blog will consist solely of lists of sorts - random and nonsensical thoughts, most likely, so keep your seatbelts fastened!
